Recently, GENMA’s first independently developed non-shore-powered rail-mounted Mobile Harbor Crane (MHC) was successfully shipped overseas. Designed to meet diverse port operating conditions and flexible handling requirements, this innovative solution is capable of efficiently handling various types of cargo such as containers and bulk materials including coal. Its successful delivery marks an important milestone for GENMA in independent innovation and scenario-based adaptation of port machinery.
Unlike traditional rail-mounted MHCs that depend on shore power, this model adopts diesel generator sets as its power source. This design eliminates reliance on fixed shore power infrastructure, significantly enhancing site adaptability and deployment flexibility. It is especially suited for ports and temporary work sites with limited power supply, underdeveloped shore power systems, or those requiring frequent relocation.
In terms of drive systems, the crane employs a hybrid solution: variable frequency drives for hoisting and traveling motions, combined with hydraulic drives for slewing and luffing. This integrated approach ensures stable and highly efficient operation.
On the intelligence front, the machine also delivers outstanding performance. The grab bucket mode is equipped with an intelligent deep-digging system for efficient material collection, while the container spreader features an automatic centering function to ensure precise and secure lifting operations. Together, these features offer users an integrated handling experience that is smart, efficient, and user-friendly.
This new product not only expands GENMA’s portfolio but also demonstrates the company’s R&D strength in the field of green, flexible, and sustainable port equipment. Looking ahead, GENMA will continue to focus on real-world market demands and leverage its proprietary core technologies to provide global customers with smarter, environmentally adaptive material handling solutions—supporting the industry’s ongoing progress toward greater efficiency and lower carbon emissions.
